Drumshanbo is situated in the heart of County Leitrim, in scenic woodland
and on the shores of Lough Allen, one of the major course fishing centres in the country.
It is easily accessible by rail, road or river. With a population of about 700 it provides
a friendly atmosphere for the visitor and there is an abundance of self-catering
accommodation and Guest Houses, Pubs and modern Supermarkets.

The Acres Amenity Centre
Adjoining the Cruisers jetty, at Acres Lake 1 km from the town has heated
outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and children's playground. The "Teach
Ceoil" or Music House which is situated here provides occasional sessions of Irish
music song and dance.
The Sliabh an Iarann Visitors Centre
The Visitors Centre is located in the centre of town and has an Audio Visual display
taking visitors through local scenery and highlighting the history of Iron and Coal
Mining, The Cavan Leitrim Railway, and Sweat Houses which served the same purpose as the
modern Sauna. Souvenirs are also on sale here and information given on activities and
places worth seeing in the region. This centre is well worth a visit. Opening Hours:
Monday to Saturday 10am - 6pm and Sunday 2-6 pm(Summer Months) There is also a Public
Library located in the building. Opening Hours: Mon & Wed 5pm - 9pm and Friday 12noon
to 9pm.
Mayflower Community Centre
Bingo is run every Monday night 9pm.Great Prizes. Handball and badminton
facilities are
also available. For other events such as Discos, Concerts and Plays enquire locally.
